Day #145 of quarantine and I think I am on Facebook too much because I am soo tired of reading complaint after complaint. Everyone is going through this. The Pandemic is Global. Please. Consider that the schools have never been through this. The teachers have never had to teach their classes virtually before (not counting spring when they were thrown into it). School administrators are making judgement calls knowing that anything could change any day. Restaurants are opening and closing when cases pop up by their employees. Small businesses are closing because they simply can't be closed for months at a time. It's like our country has been flipped upside down, shaken, and then thrown on the floor and stomped on. Close your eyes. Take a breathe. Forgive your children's teachers for the spring and wish them well for the fall. While we wait for things like test results, cases to go down, schools to get things going smoothly, businesses to do the best they can, the election this November, etc...Be Patient.

Today is day 143 of the quarantine. Teachers in our county have been back at school for a week preparing to teach online and already about a dozen schools have had to close due to staff testing positive. It may not look the way you want it and it may not be ideal, but I believe that everyone is doing their best to try to provide a quality education for our students. This pandemic is a new situation for everyone so give the schools a chance to figure it out. Be kind.

Today is day 110 of quarantine and I'm working in my veggie, flower, and herb garden enjoying the cooler weather (it's in the 80s, but this is Georgia so this is very nice for July). Enjoy the coloring page and stay safe.

It is day 101 of quarantine for me and my family. This ribbon represents that we all need just to keep moving and going with the flow (I could have done a water scene). Stay safe, wear a mask when you are in public spaces, and keep coming back for coloring pages every Monday and Wednesday.

Fish! So, with the Memorial Day weekend just behind us, I saw soo many posts of friends at the beach. I'm still in quarantine at home, but I'm definitely thinking about the beach, the water, and of course, the fish.

Day 53 of quarantine and since I hope everyone is staying home as much as possible, I drew a neighborhood for you to color. I get a lot of emails asking if people can share my pages with classrooms and the answer is YES. Please share my blog and my free coloring pages with anyone you think would enjoy them. Doodle Day SPARKS

Can you believe Doodle Day has 594 members?? WOW! I love knowing that there are soo many people doodling out there. We started as a 1 month doodle challenge in May 2013 and just kept on doodling. November 2015 marks our 31st consecutive month of doodling every day. If you don't know the way it works, join the Doodle Day group on Facebook, then you click on the file for the month and the list of doodle prompts are listed there. If there are blank spaces after any of the days, doodle members are welcome to add something appropriate to the theme. We have to keep in mind that we have doodlers as young as 4 years old in there so all doodle prompts and doodles are G rated. The prompts are there to inspire and challenge. We all know that it can be stressful to stare at a blank page and not know what to draw so the prompt lists take that stress away. Doodle Day can be used as a daily creative exercise, a warm up for a more difficult art piece you are working on, a relaxation technique, an activity to get the creativity flowing before writing a story or a business proposal or working on homework. Doodling should not take a lot of thought. Put your pencil to the page and see what happens. Try new mediums and drawing techniques. I started playing with a brush pen Doodle Day in 2013 and now that's all I use. I learned how to paint with watercolors in there. I started working with acrylics and canvas there. Doodle Day is an opportunity to create without judgement, without grades, and without the stress of it being a perfect piece for a portfolio or art exhibit. Just create. It is the most supportive creative environment that I know of and I am soo happy that soo many doodlers are there to support my love of being creative every day.
