New Pandemic Coloring Page #113

Copy, Print, Color

Today is day 402 of quarantine and the sun has been shining all week. We were expecting thunder storms today and it's been cloudy, but the rain hasn't started yet. My garden could use it, so I'm actually hoping for a little rain. Have a great rest of the week! Stay safe! I hope you enjoy today's page.

New Free Pandemic Coloring Page #103!

Today is day 370 and I have seen all over the news that it is International Woman's Day. Really? Never heard of this before. I think every day should be Woman's Day - we should celebrate girl power and woman power every day! We have amazing women who are doctors, scientists, inventors, astronauts, teachers, doctors, nurses, and VICE PRESIDENTS! There is nothing women can't do. When I was a toy designer, I was paid less as a woman at 3 different companies. Women should NOT be paid less for accomplishing the same task. It's time for gender equality.

New Free Pandemic Coloring Page #94!

Copy, Print, Color

Today is day #331 of quarantine.

A friend recently posted a photo of two older people wearing masks while driving. He probably took the photo when he pulled up next to them. He posted this photo on his Facebook page with the question "Why?" My immediate response was why what? Why are they wearing masks? Maybe they are immunocompromised. Maybe they don't live together and are being cautious (though not 6 feet apart). Maybe they just came from a doctor visit and don't want to touch their masks until they get home and wash their hands. Maybe they are just following science! Please don't make assumptions about people. Don't judge people for following the CDC guidelines. In the thread of comments, he commented on his own photo that he thinks that people are living in fear. FOLLOWING SCIENCE IS NOT LIVING IN FEAR. Wearing a mask has proven to slow the spread. Wearing a mask shows that you care about other people and their health. Wearing a mask shows consideration and empathy. In the words of Nike, Just do it.

New Free Pandemic Coloring Page #93!

Copy, Print, Color

I always begin a new sketchbook with a page for my name. If your name is Alison - spelled this way, you are welcome to print it and use it as a coloring page.

Today's Coloring Page is...BEGIN

Today is day 329 of quarantine. Today, I created a new crochet hat pattern that I'll upload to my Ravelry Store and made one and half samples of it, crocheted several inches of a junk yarn basket, and illustrated 2 new coloring pages for my brand new (old, but unused - I did not go out - there's COVID out there) sketchbook. I get asked often how I work on my garden, crochet hats and create patterns, draw coloring pages, paint in my journal, write children's books, create recipes for cookies, etc... and my answer is always BEGIN. Just start. You want to learn something new? Watch a YouTube video and begin. You have nothing to lose. If the crochet stitch looks terrible, try again. If the cookies taste terrible, change something in the recipe and try again. If the hat looks funky, change the pattern and try again. The only thing you have to lose it time. There is no big secret. Want to try something new? Begin.

Now - go create something.

New Free Pandemic Coloring Page #91

Copy, Print, Color

Today is day 319 of quarantine and while I was tempted to create a page about the pandemic or the inauguration or love or peace or new beginnings or the vaccine, it is Martin Luther King Jr Day, so this day is for him. This quote by Martin Luther King Jr. sums it all up nicely.

New Free Pandemic Coloring Page #89

Copy, Print, Color

Today is day 309 of quarantine. What happened in our country at our Nation's Capitol on Wednesday was very dark. Rather than focus on that horrifying scene, I would rather focus on Reverend Warnock and John Ossoff getting elected for the Senate seats in Georgia and the years of effort that Stacey Abrams gave to making that happen. Congrats to Warnock and Ossoff and thank you, Stacey Abrams. I wish John Lewis and Ruth Bader Ginsburg were here to see Georgia turn blue. Please color this page and post it on her social media pages or tag her in your posts. Let's let her know that her efforts are appreciated.

Stay safe!

Peace is on the horizon.

Today is day 304 of quarantine. In 44 minutes, VP Pence will announce the results of the electoral college vote. We already know the results, but the POTUS is still expecting him to fudge the answer. Silly. In any case, the current POTUS is out in 2 weeks and a new President and VP will start moving things in the right direction. Congratulations to our new GA Senator Reverend Warnock! The Ossoff/Purdue election is not quite done yet. Stay safe. Stay healthy. Wear a mask. We are all getting through this together.

New Free Pandemic Coloring Page #87

Copy, Print, Color

Today is day 299 of quarantine and we are just starting to see the cases coming in as a result of Christmas gatherings and won't see the spread from New Year's for another week or two. Thankfully, the vaccine has rolled out. It isn't getting distributed as fast as the CDC had hoped, but I'm hoping that they get organized in the upcoming weeks.

On a different note, 2021 is finally here. While 2020 was a cruddy year, I did manage to write a graphic novel, create 86 of these free coloring pages, and crochet 27 hats for Cancer patients. Just trying to look at the cup half full here.

This Tuesday, will be the Senate runoff here in Georgia and the country will be watching to see which way the state goes. I imagine that it will be close. All I know is that I early voted, so I let my voice be heard. If you haven't voted yet, please go vote tomorrow. President Elect Biden and Vice President Elect Harris will get sworn in 15 days from today. Stay safe. Stay healthy. Wear a mask.

New Free Pandemic 2020 Coloring Page 86!

Copy, Print, Color

Today is day 292 of quarantine. New Years is only a few days away and I'm ready for change. I'm ready for the vaccine to get to the rest of the essential workers and those who are immunocompromised. I'm ready for super spreaders to STOP and realize that they need to see the forest for the trees. See the big picture. Their selfish acts impact the entire community and beyond. My community lost a teacher to COVID19 on Christmas day. I didn't know him, but I know that we don't need the teachers to be forced to be in the classroom risking their lives. Students can learn from home. Teachers can teach from home. My condolences to his family and friends and students. Stay home. Stay safe. Things need to change. January 20th can't get here fast enough. Bring on 2021!

New Free Pandemic 2020 Coloring Page #85!

Copy, Print, Color!

Today is day 287 of quarantine. The numbers of new COVID cases each day are terrible, and my stress level is high, but I feel this small bubble of hope. I have friends in the medical profession who have received the first dose of the vaccine and while I probably won't be able to get it until well into next year, this still gives me hope. A feeling that there is a light at the end of this long, dark, and scary tunnel. I hope you all feel it, too. I am soo sorry and sad about all of the moms, dads, brothers, sisters, and friends, who have been lost this year. I have lost people, too. Be thankful if you and your family are well. Reflect on what you have and on who you have. Be safe. Be strong. Have hope.

New Free Pandemic 2020 Coloring Page # 84

Today is day 285 of quarantine. Early voting is going on for the senate runoff, vaccines are being given to those in health care working with COVID patients, and Christmas is this week. Please follow the CDC guidelines and have a distance celebration with your family and friends for the holiday and let's work together to slow the spread. Stay safe. Stay healthy. Happy Holidays.

New Free Pandemic Coloring Page #82

Copy, Print, Color! Happy Hanukkah!

Today is day 278 of quarantine and tonight is the 5th night of Hanukkah. The menorah that I drew for the first night has grown more branches and changed over time. The Hebrew term Etz Chaim means "tree of life. I've always loved artwork depicting different versions of the tree of life, but this season, I am particularly drawn to it. Stay safe. Stay home.

HAPPY HANUKKAH!

(first night is tomorrow night, 12/10/2020)

Today is day 273 of quarantine and COVID numbers are bad so we are continuing to stay home and looking forward to lighting our menorahs tomorrow. This tree of life menorah is in honor of the hope that this holiday brings for life, for survival, and for celebration of getting through a difficult year. Stay safe.

Today is day 266 of quarantine and the big news is we had a dozen snowflakes fall in Georgia yesterday!! My kids are scared that snow days are a thing of the past now that school is remote, but I think that snow days will still exist. Only time will tell. I hope you are all staying safe.

New Free Pandemic 2020 Coloring Page #78

Today is day 264 of quarantine and it is the Monday after Thanksgiving weekend. This has been a crazy year and with all of the vendor fairs cancelled, it has been a challenge for many artisans and craftsmen to connect with their customers. Head to Etsy and read announcements and the about paragraphs to see why they create what they create. Hit the heart button on your favorite items. Many, like me, are offering free shipping. Consider supporting the artists and giving friends or family a handmade gift this year.

My shop is called Doodling Rocks and can be found at: www.etsy.com/shop/DoodlingRocks.

The other 77 free coloring pages are on my blog at: https://alisonhertz.blogspot.com/

Below my page is a blank with space for you or your children to draw a picture of what you are thankful for and below that is a blank with lines for you or your children to write what you are thankful for.

Think about it. It has been a strange and tough year, but we have things to be thankful for. Today is day 259 of quarantine for my family and my neighbors. Video chat or call your family and have a happy Thanksgiving. We will all get through this together.
